Clear communication
You get updates before you ask. Every decision, delay, or change is communicated the same day — not after the fact.

Northern New Jersey · Since 2017
Kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and whole-home renovations across 8 New Jersey counties. Free walkthrough, written scope, one team from start to finish.
What we do
Every project starts the same way — we walk the house, talk through what’s actually broken, and plan the work before anyone picks up a hammer.
01 / 04Primary baths, hall baths, powder rooms — built to hold up to water for the long haul.
02 / 04Turn unfinished space into a real room — office, playroom, in-law suite. Done right so it stays dry.
03 / 04Layout, cabinets, counters, lighting — planned around how your household actually uses the space.
04 / 04Paint, trim, flooring, doors, lighting — coordinated so the house feels intentional, not patched.

Why homeowners refer HCC
Most homeowners who hire us had a bad experience with a previous contractor. They come to HCC because they want someone who actually communicates, plans the work, and delivers what they promised.
You get updates before you ask. Every decision, delay, or change is communicated the same day — not after the fact.
We protect your home during construction. Floors get covered, dust gets contained, and the site is cleaned up at the end of every day.
We tell you what the project actually requires — including the parts that are boring or expensive. No mid-project surprises.
We use proper materials, proven techniques, and experienced trades. The work holds up for years — not just long enough to pass inspection.
What you get with HCC
Not promises about things we cannot control. The commitments below are on every project we take on — small bathroom or whole-home renovation.
You see the full scope, the line-itemed budget, and a real timeline in writing — before you sign anything or pay a deposit.
The same person from the walkthrough through final inspection. You always know who is in your home, what is happening tomorrow, and who decides what.
We pull every required permit under our HIC license, schedule the inspections, and handle the back-and-forth with your town so you do not chase officials.
Real tile, real underlayment, real waterproofing — set by hand by trades we have worked with for years. We do not install acrylic bath inserts and we do not pretend they are the same thing.

FAQ
Honest answer: it depends on scope, finishes, and how much of the existing layout has to change. The biggest cost drivers are structural changes (moving walls, plumbing, or electrical), cabinet and countertop selections, and how much of the demo work uncovers — older NJ homes often have outdated wiring, undersized supply lines, or settling that adds scope. We give you a written, line-itemed estimate after the walkthrough so you see exactly where the money goes before you commit.
Timelines depend on scope and how fast selections get finalized. A bathroom is typically faster than a kitchen, and a kitchen is typically faster than a whole-home or addition. The biggest delays come from materials with long lead times (custom cabinets, specialty tile, slab counters) and permit review windows that vary by NJ town. We commit to a realistic timeline in writing before the project starts, with daily updates so you always know where things stand.
Most kitchen and bathroom remodels in New Jersey require permits — usually building, plumbing, and electrical, sometimes mechanical. Cosmetic-only work (paint, replacing fixtures like-for-like) often doesn't, but anything that moves walls, plumbing, or electrical does. We pull every required permit ourselves under our HIC license, schedule the inspections, and handle the back-and-forth with the town so you're not chasing officials.
For most projects, yes. Single-bathroom homes during a bath remodel and kitchens that are the only cooking space are the trickiest cases — we plan dust containment, temporary water shutoffs, and rough-in sequencing so daily life stays workable. For whole-home or large additions, some families choose to stay elsewhere for the loudest weeks. We talk through the realistic disruption pattern at the walkthrough so there are no surprises.
Change orders happen — usually because demo uncovered something or you decide to upgrade a finish. Every change is documented in writing with the price impact and timeline impact BEFORE we proceed, and you sign off before any change-order work starts. No surprise line items at the end. The reason our written scope is so detailed up front is to keep change orders rare and small.
You get one point of contact from HCC — the same person from the walkthrough through final inspection. That person coordinates every trade (electricians, plumbers, tile setters, finish carpenters) so you're never chasing the right sub. The HCC team handles the build management; the licensed and insured trades handle their specialty work. You always know who's in your home and why.
